Mercedes oversees the operations and day-to-day efforts of ISLAA, including the multiple projects ISLAA embarks in with scholars, students, donors, and like-minded organizations. Mercedes brings to ISLAA a strong background in sales, finance, project management and team building, as well as a passion for creating new projects, long lasting teams and effective and efficient organizations.
She started her career early on while studying Economics at the University of Buenos Aires. During these years She worked for several public offices of the Argentinean Government, as a contributor writer for the International Commerce section of the La Nación newspaper and as press relations for Fundación Export.Ar. Upon graduating, she joined Citibank’s Management Associate program and continued her path at Citi working at Citigold and Private Bank. Then, Mercedes joined Compass Group, a Latin American boutique asset management company, as Head of Institutional Sales where she was responsible for product development, compliance and sales for its Buenos Aires office. After Compass Group, Mercedes worked with small ventures as consultant, assisting them in setting up operations and offices in Argentina and Uruguay. Later, she joined Geo Global Foundation (GGF) where she developed and supervised new projects, and became COO of GGF’s art initiative; ISLAA.
Mercedes has a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires, in Argentina, where she graduated Cum Laude. She also holds a graduate degree in Finance from Centro de Estudios Macroeconómicos (CEMA), also in Buenos Aires.
