The Latin American Forum is pleased to present “Lucio Fontana in Buenos Aires circa 1946” a panel discussion exploring Lucio Fontana’s relationship with his native country Argentina and his engagement with the avant-garde groups in Buenos Aires in the 1940s. With special invited speakers from Argentina: María Amalia García, Researcher, CONICET at TAREA-Instituto de Investigaciones sobre Patrimonio Cultural, Universidad de San Martín, and Andrea Giunta, Professor at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and Principal Researcher at CONICET. Also participating: Iria Candela, Estrellita B. Brodsky Curator of Latin American Art in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and curator of Lucio Fontana: On the Threshold, and Edward J. Sullivan, Helen Gould Sheppard Professor of the History of Art at New York University, who will moderate the discussion.
